Two exceptional buying experiences at Kaoud Rugs and Carpet in Orange, CT. Firstly, a readymade rug for our family room from the vast selection in the showroom. Jim and his staff are incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and helpful and gave us a lot of their time to educate us and select the perfect rug. They are also patient because we are quite fussy shoppers and they helped us by taking rugs off the hangers so we could view them on the floor.
They earned our trust and so we returned a couple of weeks ago for some custom area rugs for living room and master bedroom room. Again, their patience was commendable as we took multiple samples back to our home and then they ordered larger 9”x9” samples of our preferred pattern delivered to our home in a couple of days … just to make sure it was right. Ordering was a breeze and delivery in both cases was exceptional – moving furniture very carefully as needed to lay the rugs.
The end-to-end experience was superb and what you’d expect from top-end stores, but we had shopped around and found that Kaoud’s not only offered premium service, but also has a very competitive price point. Well done and thank you Jim and all! – Colin T.

What a lovely experience! Reminds me why we need to buy local from real people! We needed new rugs for our home but still weren’t ready to spend thousands on hand loomed rugs. We happened to stop into Kaoud in Orange and met with Jim and Liz who spent time showing us their stock, helping us with our design decisions and ultimately letting us take our time to decide. When we finally made up our minds, we needed to rush an order so that the rugs would be in place for our upcoming event. Liz and Jim went out of their way to make it happen, arranged for a timely delivery, and ensured that we were 100% satisfied in every way. Prices were reasonable as well! Great experience with Liz at Kaoud Rugs of Orange. I found a beautiful 100% wool rug, but wasn’t sure it would look right in my home. Liz suggested I take the rug home with me that day (for free) and make a decision after seeing it in the space. If I didn’t love it, Kaoud Rugs would pick it up from my home the following day. SO convenient! This made all the difference for me! Liz knows that these rugs are investments and she wants the customer to love what they pick – I’m sure the whole Kaoud family feels the same way. Kaoud not only has great rugs, it’s people are knowledgeable experts and so helpful! While I’m thrilled with the new 10 x 13 rug I purchased, it is the little “extras” that make the difference in service. Liz showed me many good options, and I felt that I had seen a strong array of choices. Once they put it down in the room, it was clear it was perfect. Her workers were fabulous – polite and accommodating. Best of all, she and Jim researched a problem I had with another rug and were able to find a weaver to fix it! – NG
We recently had Kaoud Rugs and Carpet clean our 5 oriental rugs. Liz helped tremendously by giving us information on the services provided by the store and patiently answering all my questions and concerns. Their efficient crew picked-up and dropped-off the rugs on time and even spread them out in their proper places around the house. The rugs were cleaned very well and exceeded my expectations. On Liz’s recommendation, we also bought pads to put under the rug – they were cut to match the size of our rugs and work perfectly. Had a carpet that was close to 100 years old with one corner disintegrated from a plant sitting on it. Kudos to Jim Kaoud and Liz in the Orange, Ct store for talking me out of cutting away 1/3 of the rug to keep it uniform. Instead they cut around the compromised area and though not a perfect rectangle, the look is unique and fantastic. I recommend this store for anyone looking to bring a rug back to life. We came in to see Jim at Kaoud in Orange because we had an antique Persian rug that was in dire condition. The rug needed cleaning and restoring to say the least, there were many worn areas and most were worn all the way down so that the woven backing was visible. When Jim presented the rug to us again we were absolutely blown away!! The faded colors are vibrant once again and all the worn areas are magically gone. Jim’s work is so thorough and pristine that our beautiful and now perfect antique rug reflects all of his knowledge, passion and expertise for what he does. We are beyond happy with the results. – VL
